I'm still alive!

So, I know I haven't been posting and I'm so sorry! And angry at myself - it's my resolution remember! Putting off revising for exams has been overtaken by cramming for exams last minute and so I haven't had time, or the mental capacity to write anything of worth. But with one exam down and two to go, I should be back in no time! Yay!
Super sorry again! Rosie xx

Where's my makeup?

Anyone who loves shopping knows why December is an exciting time. No, it's not Christmas eve, or even Christmas day itself - but the exciting Boxing Day sales which let us buy all the presents for ourselves we spotted when doing our Christmas shopping for others.

I picked up a few bargins here and there (Shall I do a haul post?) but my post exciting purchase was from the Benefit website! You don't find many sales for makeup since they never really go out of season, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that their Christmas sets were marked down! So on boxing day I ordered the 'Groovy kinda love' set (I LOVE benefit's names!!)

What you get with 'Groovy Kinda Love', don't you love the packaging too?

So, resolutions?

So, it's that time of year again where we make promises to ourselves to make this year better than the last. And I'm no different, so here are my New Year Resolutions for 2014. I'm hoping that having them typed up for all to see will remind me to stick to them as I am one of those, like many, whose resolutions are lost by February!

I've always loved to read, but at uni I find it hard to find the time. Not that I'm doing work all the time, but that my free time is normally spent watching TV or losing hours to to Tumblr (am I right? side resolution: less time on tumblr!) It seems the only time I read now is when on holiday, where I can read books on books on books in a week.

I've also decided to read more classic books, some of the 'greats' that you're meant to read. So to help me along, I've bought two Ernest Hemmingway books. After a bit of googling research I decided on 'A Farewell to Arms'(A level English Lit's left me with a familiarity for WW1 literature) and 'Fiesta: The Sun Also Rises' which apparently has similar themes to The Great Gatsby which is one of my favourite books.
So hopefully, I'll get through those without them gathering dust on my shelf and I'll be able to say I've read some Hemmingway!

Hi there!

I thought about missing out the obligatory first introductory post, and instead, just jumping straight in. But what's a blog without the first awkward hello?!
So, hey! I'm Rosie, a 20 year old student, who like many others before me has come to the decision to start a blog!
I know, I know, starting a blog at the start of the new year isn't the most original of ideas, but apparently January brings around a 'push' for people to pursue lingering ideas that the other months just don't bring to the table.
It has nothing to do with me not wanting to revise for my final year exams coming up!

With an obsession with makeup and all things beauty, I had originally intended this blog to be exclusively beauty (with the apt and genius alliterative title 'RosieReviews'). Sadly, with the budget that comes along with being a student, I didn't think I would have the funds to go around buying all the brand new makeup that comes out to put out enough posts. Believe me, I wish I could! Instead, I've left my witty blog name for a slightly vaguer one with the means of being able to blog more widely.

Oh god, this is already getting long and rambley and I'm starting to make my own words up. So I think i'll finish this here, publish it, and stare at the laptop deciding whether or not to delete the whole thing! *Monkey with hands over mouth emoji*

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Rosie x

I love reading all your comments, thank you!
