A couple of weeks ago I quickly popped into Superdrug to pick up some lashes before going out that night. It wasn't until I had picked up my usual Eyelure 101's and was heading to the till that I saw the
new Tanya Burr lashes in the corner of my eye. Now, I'm not normally one to rush and buy a celebrity/YouTuber product. Somehow I think that it's the name that sells the product and not the quality. However, curiosity got the better of me and I picked up 'Bambi Eyes' (the closest in style to my regular 101's) for a similar price of £5.49.

Excuse the lack of packaging photos. As I said, I bought these in a hurry before getting ready for a night out, so I had no time for photos, and they're not really in the state for photos now.
The first thing I want to say about these lashes, is how pleasantly surprised I was with them! If I'm honest, I wasn't expecting too much from them, but I've ended up really liking them and will probably repurchase in the future.
The packaging states "Get big, beautiful eyes with these doll-like lashes". I agree, I think these lashes do really open up the eye without being too over-the-top. The lashes themselves seem good quality - on par with any of the Eyelure pairs I have tried.
One significant feature of these lashes is the very thin band. This really makes the lashes look more natural on the eye, and reduce the need to wear a load of eyeliner on top. Although this meant that it was a little more fiddly to put the lashes on, I really liked the finished look it gave.
The only thing I disliked about the lashes was the glue that came with them. When first putting on the lashes, I had to keep going back and adding more glue to the ends as they just wouldn't stick. Saying that, once I had added some more glue a couple of times, the lashes did stay put all night. Also, in terms of packaging, unlike Eyelure's screw top, this came with a pull top glue. I don't know if it's just me, but I had a real trouble getting the lid on and off, and ended up getting glue all over the place. |
Overall, I was really pleasantly surprised with the quality of the lashes and will definitely be trying out some more of the lashes from the range. I've got my eye on the individual lashes, which I've never tried before from any brand before, but am dying to try out! However, I will probably be throwing out the glue included and using my own!
Have any of you tried any of the Tanya Burr lashes? How did you find them?
Also, what are your thoughts on celebrity products in general?
