Hi everyone!
As I've mentioned just about a million times now (sorry) but I graduated last week. My previous post asked you all to help me pick a dress for my graduation ball. So many of you left lovely comments which I really appreciate, thank you!
I thought it would only be fitting to do an outfit of the day into night to show you what I chose to wear.
Graduation:
Top left photo is an old one to show what the dress looks like! |
For my actual graduation ceremony I didn't have enough money or time to get a new outfit, so I had to have a rummage through my wardrobe to find something. Well, whatever I wore was going to be mostly covered by (£45 to rent for a couple of hours!) robes anyway!
I decided on an old River Island dress I bought a couple of years ago. It's a cream lace dress with three-quarter length sleeves. I opted for thick black tights to wear as well. Partly because it was very cold and windy, and partly because the dress was pretty short. For shoes I decided on flats - I did not want to fall face first on the stage! I went for these Topshop Sandylion Slippers in black, hoping they were still smart enough to wear.
In terms of hair and makeup, I didn't do anything special. I had to wake up at 6:15am, so I didn't have the mental capacity to make too much effort! Quick straightening of the hair and normal everyday makeup and I was good to go.
Graduation Ball:
Fast forward to the next evening and it was time for the Graduation Ball. I ended up going for the Topshop Tall Double-Layer Tunic. To keep with the monochrome theme, I paired the dress with some black and white slightly heeled sandals from ASOS (no longer on website I'm afraid).
In terms of makeup, to break up the black and white, I went for a classic red lip - using MAC Russian Red. For eyes, I used Benefits 'guilt-y pleasure', 'shimmer down', and 'kiss me I'm tipsy' from the 'Groovy Kind-a Love!' palette, some black liquid liner and Tanya Burr's 'Bambi Eyes' lashes (review on it's way!).

With the dress and makeup paired up with a centre parted fringe and some slight back combing, I ended up realising I sort of looked like I was going to a 60's fancy dress. But you know what, I kinda dig it!
And there we go - my OOTD into OOTN for my graduation. I promise all graduation talk will stop here! Posts can resume as normal - I've got a Tanya Burr lashes and CoLab dry shampoo reviews coming, so keep your eyes peeled for them!
